(Non-Profit Organisation) that was established upon the social needs of the Congolese community residing in Southern Africa. The organisation was founded on the 19th of April 2023 by a group of Congolese brothers, whose interests lie in the upkeep and social well-being of the African people. At the heart of the NPO, the insatiable desire is to meet the needs of those beset by problems, particularly those of Congolese nationals residing in South Africa. These needs range from Social Security, Healthcare assistance, Legal aid and Diplomatic intervention. This organisation seeks to create unity and reliability within the Congolese community using the abovementioned forms of support. Ultimately, the intention is to anchor and tonic the exercise of love using social engagements.
2. Mission and Vision
The following items are the aims the organisation strives to achieve:
• Legal representation is offered to undocumented Congolese nationals residing in South Africa. This assistance extends to individuals who have been detained or incarcerated due to issues related to their immigration status, such as possessing invalid or expired documents. We aim to ensure that these individuals receive fair treatment under the law and have access to the necessary legal support to navigate their immigration challenges effectively.
• Diplomatic Aid is provided to Congolese nationals who require assistance with verifying the validity of their documents and facilitating their renewal processes. This support ensures that individuals facing bureaucratic challenges or in need of guidance regarding their official paperwork receive comprehensive assistance from diplomatic channels. Our goal is to streamline the process, alleviate uncertainties, and ensure that Congolese citizens can navigate administrative procedures smoothly and effectively.
• Healthcare assistance, attendance and visitations of members who have been hospitalised or found to be in critical health conditions and do not have the monetary means to
afford healthcare.
• Support and assistance to bereaved, violated rights, hate crime, immigration issues, refugee crisis and other social issues that concern members of the Congolese community.
3. Programs and Activities
The main programs and activities that the organisation has implemented so far are those that speak to social needs and act as stimulants to the mental health of Congolese nationals, which is an imperative focus, as feelings of nostalgia could leave them feeling despondent from time to time. The following are activities that have been implemented by the organisation:
• Social events such as sports and recreational activities to incorporate families and create relations.
• Barbeques and get-togethers to cultivate a spirit of liveliness.
• Welfare visits to orphanages, and fundraisers to assist the disadvantaged children.
Hospital visitations for members that have been hospitalised, and aftercare post the dischargement.
• Embassy runs for members who need assistance with documentation, as well as newly arrived Congolese nationals.
